Ibiza

Ibiza declared a World Heritage Site for four different reasons

As well as being able to enjoy a holiday with the best gastronomy, the most beautiful beaches and the best European discos, there is more to admire in Ibiza: it boasts four entries on UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites.

The archaeological site of Sa Caleta in the municipality of Sant Josep de sa Talaia is one of these and to visit it is to learn about the first settlers of Ibiza. Meanwhile, the second heritage site, the Necropolis of Puig des Molins, began to be used as a necropolis at the time of the first settlers and it was later kept as a cemetery. Various objects have been found there, from weapons to coins, ceramics and religious images.

Another must if you decide to go to Ibiza is losing oneself in the streets of the famous Dalt Vila (Old Town). From there you arrive at the Cathedral of Eivissa, with its breathtaking views across the port of La Marina.

Finally, Posidonia oceanica, preserved by UNESCO, plays a crucial role in maintaining the ecosystem and it also helps to ensure the quality of the waters in the coves.

Anyone who visits this beautiful island can enjoy these wonderful surprises.
